A county councillor from Bicester will resume his responsibilities over county hall finances, it was announced this week.
Councillor Charles Shouler has been re-appointed the lead member for finance by Oxfordshire County Council, a position he held previously from 2005 to 2010.
Mr Shouler, who stood down after suffering ill health in 2010, said: “Managing finances for an organisation the size of Oxfordshire County Council is a considerable task and not one that I take lightly.
“However I have done this job before and I know what to expect.
“I am looking forward to being involved again.
“The county council has a long track record of managing finances well and I intend that to continue.”
Mr Shouler, who lives in Priory Court, represents the Bicester South division.
