After the big thaw Northants highways maintenance crews will be searching for the big pothole as they continue to spend millions dedicated towards the problem.
In the past Northants County Council highways engineers would quickly apply temporary repairs to potholes. But in recent years engineers have applied longer lasting, semi-permanent repairs, which they hope will have endured the freeze and thaw of recent weeks.
This month NCC received £3.7million from Government for road repairs over the next two years, adding to the £16m NCC allocated for preventative repairs in 2013/14 and 2014/15.
The Government has made £2.457m available in 2013/14 with a further £1.315m on offer for the financial year 2014/15. Report potholes online via the Street Doctor at www.northamptonshire.gov.uk.
