Organisers of the 2012 Towcester Produce show are telling entrants to bring what’s good on the day, as they prepare for a day of horticultural and homecraft fun.

Drisc Wardle of the Allotment Society helps organise the show and said it is not as serious as some of the village shows, and is open to people of all abilities. She added: “Last year we had one old guy who’d never entered before because he didn’t think his stuff was that good. But he ended up with a first prize. I think people like to show their produce and are delighted if they win something.”

The show features categories for fruit, vegetables, flowers and homecrafts, as well as special classes for children. All residents who live in the NN12 postcode can enter – not just Towcester residents or allotment holders. Entrants pay a small membership fee per family and can enter as many classes as they want.

If you would like to enter or become a sponsor contact Trev or Drisc Wardle of 80 Watling Street on 01327 350985 or by e-mail at info@twofacesdesign.com.

Entries must be in place by 10.30am in Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 and public viewing starts at 1pm.
