Buckingham’s ‘Windsor Park’ estate to unveil the first of its new homes

THE first batch of new homes on Buckingham’s latest housing estate are on sale.
Officially named Windsor Park, the 700-home estate is being developed by a partnership of Barratt, David Wilson, Bovis Homes and Bellway Homes.
The Barratt phase is due to open later this summer. Work will start on the David Wilson phase in the next few weeks, and homes will go on sale later in the year.
Barratt Homes spokesman Sue Blackman said Buckingham offered a full range of facilities and was an ideal town for commuters.
She added: “We are confident Windsor Park will be very successful due to its great wealth of facilities, its respected university and local schools as well as its easy travel connections.”
The estate will also include a primary school, sports pitches and children’s play areas.
Ms Blackman said there had already been strong interest from potential buyers.
The Barratt phase will include a mix of two, three, four and five-bed homes.
In May, Buckingham Town Council agreed to refer to the new estate informally as Lace Hill.
Aylesbury Vale District Council had already accepted a list of names supplied by the town council, which all refer to Buckingham’s long lace-making heritage.
Names put forward include Catchpin Street, Needlepin Way, Pillow Way, Bobbin Way, Turnside Street and Braid Lane. The final choice of names has not yet been made.
