Buckingham’s local cinema is hosting a special event tomorrow, Friday, when the filmmaker and farmer who led a cast of dairy cows to international stardom bring their hit documentary The Moo Man to The Film Place at 8pm.
The Moo Man, which has just been nominated for Best Documentary in the British Independent Film Awards, was a surprise hit at the Sundance 2013 Film Festival.
The film follows a year in the life of Steve Hook and his unruly herd as they battle to keep their family farm afloat.
He said: “The film started out being about one farmer bucking the trend by not going down the big numbers route.
“In the end, though, what came across most strongly were the cows’ characters. ”
Director and cameraman Andy Heathcote took four years to make the movie, most of them spent flat on his stomach in a damp field. Both men will take part in a Q&A session after the screening.
