A charity co-founded by a Winslow man is celebrating 25 years of partnering disabled people with specially trained assistance dogs.

Roger Jefcoate CBE, who also co-founded Great Horwood charity Medical Detection Dogs, became vice-president of Canine Partners in 1994 and sponsored the training of the first three dogs.

In October, people who have benefited from Canine Partners will attend a special event at Stoke Mandeville Stadium to demonstrate the work the amazing dogs can do. Mr Jefcoat is pictured with Gwyneria Waters, of Cublington, and her assistance dog, Nicki.
