Two men from Buckingham and a Hillesden woman will be competing in the world’s most popular half marathon on Sunday, September 16, in aid of Dogs For The Disabled.
Graphic designer Adam Watts and electrician Shawn Ream, both aged 29, and personal trainer Ruth Tompkins, aged 27, are donning their running shoes to take part in Great North Run in Newcastle.
Earlier this year, super-fit Mr Watts, who works for Buckingham Colour Quest, ran the Brighton, London and Milton Keynes marathons back to back, and Ms Tompkins already has three half marathons under her belt.
It will be a first race for Mr Ream, although earlier this year he and Miss Tompkins did the gruelling 24-hour 10 Peaks Challenge in the Lake District.
The three runners are organising a quiz night at Gawcott Village Hall at 8pm tomorrow night, Friday, to help boost their fundraising total.
Entry costs £10 per person, to include a hot buffet.
