Specsavers in Bicester’s Crown Walk shopping centre has been appealing for donations to pass on to the Bicester Food Bank and thanks to generous residents, the store has collected £112 in donations as well as two bags of food which will be handed over to the charity.

Store director Sarah Marshall said: “With the festive season fast approaching and the weather turning colder, perhaps it’s more important than ever that the local community supports those most in need. The food bank is a lifeline to many people in the town and we’re delighted to be able to support the great work that they do.”

The charity, which was set up in 2006, raises awareness of food poverty in Bicester and surrounding villages. Pictured are Specsavers staff who are grateful for people’s support.
