RESIDENTS of an estate in Brackley have thanked bosses of a chicken processing plant after they delivered on promises to end putrid odours blighting the area.
For many years residents of the Roman Estate were forced inside on summer days because of the smells they blamed on the Faccenda plant on the Buckingham Road Industrial Estate.
But during a liaison meeting between residents, Faccenda and Brackley Town Council on Monday, members of a residents’ action group thanked the plant’s management for installing odour abatement technology and processes which they say have seen at end to the smells.
A statement from the action group also paid tribute one of its founding members and said: “The committee wish to remember the commitment, drive and determination of one of their founding members, the late Mike Lake of Westminster Croft, who for many years fought a battle against odour pollution.
“He would have been very pleased to be associated with ensuring that residents can now enjoy the outdoors and their gardens in the future.”
