Cyclists, walkers and horse riders can raise money for the upkeep of their favourite church with an annual sponsored event on Saturday, September 8.
The Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust (OHCT) Ride and Stride is the charity’s biggest source of income.
Participants are sponsored to visit as many churches as they can in the day. Proceeds are then shared between the trust and a nominated favourite church.
The OHCT says around 520 churches are visited by an average of 700 cyclists, riders and walkers.
Around 1,000 volunteers keep the churches open from 10am to 6pm.
The event began in 1986, and has raised more than £1.8million for Oxfordshire’s churches.
