Bourton Meadow Academy fell silent at 11am on Wednesday to mark Armistice Day.

The children had spent the morning making wreaths and writing messages.

Children were invited to wear a poppy and any Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts to wear their uniforms as a mark of respect.

The act of remembrance included music teacher Mr Perry and pupil Eleanor Price playing The Last Post on trumpets.

Headteacher Richard Main said: “This is always a very poignant event in the Bourton Meadow Academy calendar.”
