VILLAGERS in Great Horwood have won a £1,000 grant to produce a book on the village, and they’re holding a preliminary event in the village hall tomorrow, Saturday.

Anyone who has old photographs, maps or ideas to share for the book is encouraged to come along to the hall from 10am to midday, where there will be displays of historic photographs and maps.

The group has received the donation from the lord of the manor, US attorney D. Jack Smith, towards producing the book, provisionally titled Our Village Past and Present, which they hope to do within a year.
