A driver has been fined £75 for dropping a cigarette out of his car window in a town centre.
The man was caught littering from his Beige Skoda in Watling Street, Towcester, by South Northants Council enforcement officers who took photos and recorded his number plate.
The litter lout, from Leicester, dropped the cigarette on September 11 and has now admitted to being the driver at the time of the incident and has since paid the fixed penalty notice of £75.
Councillor Andrew Grant said: “It should be noted that SNC takes litter offences seriously and where there is evidence we will issue a fixed penalty notice.
“More serious incidences or repeat offenders may be dealt with at Magistrates’ Court where a higher penalty can be imposed.”
