THE affect of the Localism Bill on the district councils and volunteer groups will be discussed during a volunteer forum this month.

On Thursday, January 19, Ian Davies, director of community and environment at South Northants Council will address the South Northants Voluntary and Community Sector Forum on the structure of the council and the implications of the Localism Bill.

The second speaker will be Nick King of South Northants Volunteer Bureau (snvb) who will introduce Village Networks: a brand new Lottery-funded project connecting the villages of south Northants and their residents with support and advice services - to meet the needs and priorities of residents.

Key to the project is a mobile exhibition vehicle and a 16-seater minibus available to village voluntary/community groups. Hear how Village Networks can help your village”.

The forum will be held in the Committee Room at SNC Council Offices, Springfields, Towcester between 2pm to 4pm. For more information about the Forum or to register an interest, call Melanie Bignell on 01327 358264.
