ST James lake-athon: A 33-year-old man from Brackley is in training as he prepares to spend 50 hours walking around St James Lake raising money for Cancer Research UK in the name of his father who died last year, aged 66.

Paul Timpson will be joined by his Rossiter House neighbour Jerry Orwa and is walking four miles a day in preparation. They have gathered support from local businesses who will keep them fed and watered, and have put up posters next to Cancer Research collection tins in Brackley pubs. Mr Timpson said his father Dennis was his best friend and aims to raise £1,000 in the hope other families can avoid such a tragedy.
