WINSLOW’S new Jubilee Games Area is set to be up and running by next March, weather permitting.

Winslow Town Council has just placed its order for the multi-use games area (MUGA) which will be sited next to the town’s existing youth centre.

The games area will be freely available to all residents for casual games as well as being ideal for games organised from time to time by the youth leader and youth centre volunteers.

Neighbours are being borne in mind, with fencing designed to minimise resonance and lights. The games area will be locked between 9pm and 9am daily and inspected daily. There will also be a fence between the it and the Avenue Road entrance.

Winslow Town Council chose the name Jubilee Games Area to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee next year. The town council is hoping a sports personality can be persuaded to attend the opening ceremony, along with representatives from youth organisations in the town.

The project has been made possible by £70,000 in grant aid from WREN and Leader, and the granting of a lease for the land from Bucks County Council.
