Stowe porter pleads not guilty to poison charge
THE trial of man who denies trying to poison students at Stowe School has been set for April next year.
Maxwell Cook, a kitchen porter from Syresham near Towcester, was arrested in March after carrot and coriander soup due to be served to students was found to be laced with a poisonous cleaning product.
Cook, 57, was charged with attempting to administer poison with intent to injure, aggrieve or annoy.
He pleaded not guilty during a plea and case management hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court, today, Friday August 20.
His trial has been set for Monday, April 4 2011, at Aylesbury Crown Court.
Past pupils at Stowe School include business tycoon Sir Richard Branson, journalist Sir Peregrine Worsthorne and jazz great George Melly.
