A portal is being set up to help pupils anonymously seek advice on issues such as spots, relationships and even self-harm.

Magdalen College School in Brackley has received a £9,000 lottery grant to install Zumos on its computers.

Zumos was launched in 2013 by Insight4life and provides soundbites of advice on topics that are troubling pupils and signposts them to further help. Staff can view stats on which recordings are being listened to most but cannot see who is searching for what.

Assistant headteacher Hilary Tudor-Price said: “Sometimes young people find it hard to talk about their concerns.

“But we hope that by using this resource and gaining a better understanding of their concerns it will empower them to cope or seek the right support so that they can move forward.”
