THE inaugural carol concert in aid of project which aims to tackle society’s most challenging issues raised £1,780.

Last week the St John and St James Chapel at Magdalen College School in Brackley was host to around 200 people enjoying the concert organised by the Northants Parent Infant Project (NORPIP), which provides intensive therapeutic help to parents and their babies.

The concert was lead by the Beachborough School Singers with Michael Ridley directing the music. The highlight was an animated reading of The Christmas Cake Recipe by Beachborough pupils Clare Thomas and Sophie Banks (pictured above).

NORPIP is the brainchild of south Northants MP Andrea Leadsom who founded the sister project in Oxfordshire 12 years ago.

Earlier this year she bought the project to south Northants and established an office at the Brook Medical Centre in Towcester.

Mrs Leadsom said: “NORPIP is at the forefront of current thinking on how early intervention is the key to tackling very real threats to our society.

“Working with organisations across the county making the case for the early intervention rather than picking up the pieces later on at a significantly higher cost, both financially and emotionally, to all those involved.”
