SOUTH Northants MP Andrea Leadsom launched a new service in Towcester which she hopes will repair a broken society.

Mrs Leadsom said there is strong scientific evidence which links anti-social behaviour and criminality with a part of the brain which only develops with loving relationships as an infant.

Last Friday Mrs Leadsom opened the Northants Parent and Infant Project (NORPIP) at Victoria House in Towcester. The project is only the second of it kind in the country and the University of Northampton is preparing a report to act as a guide to set up similar groups.

Mrs Leadsom bought the project to Northants having served as the chairman of the Oxon PIP. Ron Sawbridge and Andrew Grant of Northants County Council are the chairman and deputy of the new project respectively.

Mrs Leadsom said: “The recent riots demonstrates what happens to a society which carelessly allows dysfunctional parenting to result in feral children which the whole of society has to bare the cost of.”
