The Buckingham branch of Arthritis Research UK held a coffee morning at Buckingham Community Centre last weekend.

The organisation funds research into arthritis and offers support to sufferers.

In July this year, the family of the branch’s former treasurer Moyra Coughlan, who died in December 2010, are organising a sponsored 64km walk along the coast to coast path, starting at St Bees and travelling to Grasmere, in Cumbria.

Money from the walk will go to Arthritis Research UK. The family are hoping to raise around £5,000.

Mrs Coughlan was treasurer of the branch for more than 20 years despite suffering from several auto-immune diseases including scleroderma.

She left behind her husband, Finbarr, and grown-up sons Stuart and Ryan.

Anyone wanting to support the sponsored walk can visit Stuart Coughlan’s Just Giving page, which can be found at www.justgiving.com/Stuart-Coughlan0.
