A teenager must wear a tag and complete 140 hours of community service for possessing cannabis and intending to supply it.

Ryan Brookes, 18, of Western Avenue in Buckingham, was found guilty of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on November 10 and was sentenced on the same day.

The conviction relates to an incident in Well Street, Buckingham, on June 24.

Brookes was ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He has been ordered to do 140 hours of community service and must wear a tag.

Buckingham neighbourhood inspector James Davies said: “Operation Awareness aims to disrupt drugs supply in the town and anyone who is found to have committed offences will be detained by officers and dealt with robustly.

“As part of this ongoing operation, officers will continue to target those who are dealing illegal drugs which cause misery to the lives of those in the community.

“We take reports of this nature seriously and if anyone sees any suspicious activity which may be linked to drug supply please phone police on 101.”
