Ten schools take to the pitch to enjoy festival of hockey

Pupils from Finmere CofE Primary won the Bicester Area Schools’ Quicksticks Hockey Festival for the second year running.

The festival is for children in Years 5 and 6, and is hosted by The Cooper School. Finmere is the smallest school in the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership. Coming second was Fritwell. Both teams have qualified for the North Oxfordshire School Sport Partnership In2Hockey Final in the spring.

Ten teams took part in the event including Five Acres, Launton, King’s Meadow, Bure Park and Chesterton Primary Schools. All children at the festival received certificates. Winners and runners-up were presented with medals by Bicester Hockey Club.
