TOWCESTER celebrities are feeling the pressure build as they prepare for this weekend’s Strictly by Towcester public final.
Since January a dozen local celebrities, who either work or live in Towcester, have been put through their paces by dancers from the Step by Step Dance School.
They will be competing against each other during the public final on Sunday at Towcester Centre for Leisure.
Among the celebrities are Ben Leadsom, husband of south Northants MP Andrea Leadsom, Sponne head boy Adam Button and Towcester mayor Martin Johns.
Mr Johns said: ”Obviously Strictly is a bit out of my comfort zone, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it so far.
“It’s been really good to meet the other contestants and the dancers from Step by Step. It has been challenging but a good experience and I’ve been pleased to represent the town and pleased to be able to help raise money for some really good causes.
“I think it will be a good fun event, I’m led to believe a lot of tickets have been sold. I think everyone is beginning to feel nervous before performing to the public.”
Strictly by Towcester is raising money for the Northants and Parent and Infant Project, founded by Andrea Leadsom and helps families form bonds with newborns. Make a donation at www.localgiving.com.
