SIX ladies from Great Horwood are due to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a 100km trek in aid of two charities on Friday, June 29.

Kate Jones, Sarah Burke, Pam Moyles, Ella Millerchip, Jackie Goss and Veronique Charlton will take on the Cotswold Diamond Jubilee Walk in tiaras donated by Scott Trading in Winslow.

“It’s going to be a tough challenge and we are all trying to fit in training whenever we can, but I can’t wait to get going.

“It is going to be a fantastic experience and hopefully we will raise a substantial amount of money for our chosen charities, which are both really important to us,” said Kate Jones, the group leader.

Proceeds will go to MIND, which helps people with mental health problems, and the Child Bereavement Charity, which works with both children and adults.
