With just under 80 days to go until the start of the biggest show on earth Towcester fund raiser Tony McMurray will take another step towards his dream of being involved in the summer Olympics.
This weekend Mr McMurray will travel to the Olympic village to take part in the next stage of his volunteer training as part of the transport team.
He said: “I am not sure what work I will be specifically doing but I have my shifts already in place and this Sunday should give me greater clarity over what to expect during July and August.
“I know we have restrictions over what we can say when volunteering for security reasons but I plan to run a blog on my day to day goings on as a volunteer as I do for my annual challenges”
Mr McMurray’s volunteering will be the culmination of a Olympic fundraising year for him and his wife Sharon.
Mrs McMurray ran her first half marathon in March at Silverstone and her husband recently completed the London marathon, with proceeds going towards the Alzheimer’s Society and the Towcester Gateway Club.
