The winners of Buckingham In Bloom 2012 were presented with their prizes by mayor Ruth Newell last week.

All the gardens that had been nominated were judged in July, when the panel of judges, made up of the mayor and town councillors Geraldine Collins, Hedley Cadd and Terry Bloomfield, went to view each garden.

Gardens were judged on variety of plants, colour and overall appearance.

This year’s winner was Brian Wilkins of Meadow Gardens, whose garden is brimming with colour and beautiful plants.

He was presented with a medal, garden vouchers and a certificate.

Second and third places went to Kay Musgrave of Gifford Place and Mr and Mrs Liddle of Lenborough Close.

Mr Rayner of Western Ave, Mrs Chart of Grenville Rd and Mr Hutton of Western Ave were all commended.

A specially commended award went to the residents of Paynes Court, who received a shield.
