An intrepid Towcester fundraiser is among a team of people named as Fundraisers of the Year by a sight loss charity as it celebrates its 25th birthday.
Last year Penny Pardon was in a team of eight people who climbed Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, raising £25,000 of the Macular Disease Society.
Age related macular degeneration affects the centre vision and is most common cause of sight loss.
Mrs Pardon said: “I feel very privileged to have won as award as I feel all fundraisers so such hard work and are equally as worthy. Looking back at the climb, I will aways see is as a huge personal achievement and I have some wonderful memories.”
