A LUCKY teenager is set to have his bedroom redecorated for free thanks to a Towcester building and decorating firm.

As part of last month’s apprentice week DJ Hutchings launched a prize draw to win a room make over up to the value of £1,000. On Tuesday Towcester Mayor Martin Johns pulled the winners name out of a box.

Allison Thomas from the Shires Estate wrote in a statement supporting her entry that she hoped apprentices carrying out the work would inspire her son to follow in their footsteps. Three others won toy dogs thanks to competition sponsors Dulux.

Peter Lindsley, operations director for the firm, said apprenticeships could lead to a rewarding career and added: “We hope the prize draw demonstrates to the wider community what we are about as a company. The surround area has been good to us so it is also a way of saying thank you.”
