Towcester-based heating, cooling and ventilation contractor, ACS (UK) Ltd has scooped an award at the inaugural Green Gateway Awards, held at Twickenham Stadium in October.

The awards have been devised by Mitsubishi Electric to promote and reward projects that increase efficiency, reduce carbon and promote the renewables industry.

ACS was chosen for the award because of its work to replace air conditioning refrigerant gases across more than 200 branches for the Connells estate agency group.

The project has saved Connells an estimated £150,000 a year on running cost, and cut carbon emissions in each branch by half.

ACS also received a cheque for £1,000, which it has chosen to donate to The Dunstone Bennett Centre in Northampton, which supports people with face, head, neck and mouth cancer.
