Town council supports youth cafe

A YOUTH service which is fighting for survival received a boost this week when members of Towcester Town Council voted to pay its rent for at least six months.

The Towcester Vision Youth Cafe, which focuses on keeping teenagers off the streets, has been appealing for financial support after its funding from Northants County Council came to an end.

The support from the town council came ahead of a fund raising event in Islington Road tomorrow, Saturday, April 16.

On Monday evening town councillor Chris Lofts said Vision was facing a real crisis.

Tomorrow’s fundraiser begins with a Car Boot Sale from 7am (pitches cost £5), but a wider event with bouncy castles, games, barbecue and a raffle start at 10am.
