Fresh from being voted the best Christmas shop window in town, an independent retailer is now in the running for a national shop window competition.

Secret Messages Emporium, run by Krys Doyle and Robert Sanderson, opened on Bridge Street, Buckingham, last year.

The shop boasts three floors of quirky bespoke and vintage finds, and the owners change the window display on a weekly basis.

Last week, the Emporium won the Advertiser readers’ vote for best Christmas shop window.

And it is currently running in second place in a national contest run the The Guardian newspaper, where readers vote for their favourite shop windows around the UK.

Mr Sanderson told the Advertiser: “We didn’t realise the Guardian are doing a competition as well, so we only entered about three days before the closing date.

“But they’ve extended the closing date by about 10 days and we’re currently in second place.”
