Buckingham’s newest venue is set to fill a gap in the market for local people, says its proprietor.
Ruth Markman, owner of Revusos tapas and wine bar, in Cornwall Place, told the Advertiser: “It’s a completley new venture for Buckingham. There isn’t a wine bar in Buckingham, there isn’t a tapas bar.
“I’ve been in Buckingham five or six years now and there isn’t anywhere for professionals to come for a drink after work.”
Tapas means ‘a small plate’, and Maids Moreton resident Mrs Markman, aged 42, said: “We have small plates from round the world, not just Spain.”
The menu will change with the seasons, with the autumn menu being created at the moment.
“It took us a long time to find the right chef,” said Mrs Markman. “It really does make a difference.
But if you’re not hungry, you don’t have to eat at all.
While dining tables and chairs occupy the downstairs of the venue, the upstairs room features comfy leather sofas, low lighting and sloping ceilings for a cosy ambience.
“It’s designed as a place where you can just chill and relax really,” said Mrs Markman.
Revusos is open Tuesday to Saturday, noon to 11pm. Visit www.revusos.com or call 01280 822355.
