Would you like a free bus to take you Christmas shopping?

Buckingham’s traders’ association is considering whether to put on a special bus service to pick up people from surrounding villages for the town’s Christmas shopping day on Sunday, December 7.

Shops in Buckingham will be open from 10am to 4pm on the day.

The proposal was put forward by Claire Gallagher, the owner of Finca El Monte, on Well Street.

Ms Gallagher said she had the idea after a successful charity day in the store’s back garden this summer.

Ms Gallagher said: “We had quite a lot of elderly customers, but they can only come into Buckingham if their sons or daughters bring them.”

The plan would be for a bus to pick up people from a few different villages and bring them into Buckingham for Christmas shopping, with hopefully a local pub laying on some refreshments.

The traders’ association wants to know if people would be interested, and where they live, so it can decide whether to go ahead with the plan.
