FIRE crews had a busy weekend dealing car fires, accidents and a blaze at a recycling centre.

Just before 11.30pm on Sunday, November 27, firefighters from Northampton were called to Stoke Bruerne after an electrical fault set fire to a Peugeot 206. Fire fighters from Brackley also attended the crash in Farthinghoe on Saturday morning (see adjacent story).

Then on Friday, November 25, the Brackley crew were called to an excavator on fire at the Helmdon Recycling Centre, Black Pits Farm , just off the Welsh Lane. The cause was hydraulic fluid leaking on to a hot engine.
