THE A421 Tingewick bypass is to be resurfaced next week.

And Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) teams will use the opportunity to do a host of other maintenance jobs as well.

While lanes are closed one-by-one from Monday for nearly 4km of road to be resurfaced, gulleys will be emptied, grass cut, white lines and cats’ eyes replaced, lanes and drainage channels swept and signs repaired or replaced.

Twenty-four hour working aims to keep disruption to a minimum, with old surface being removed during the day and the new surface laid at night.

While the road will remain open, a speed limit will be in place on the bypass from Monday for up to six days.

Project manager Simon Dudley said: “While this work goes on, drivers may experience some delays, and we apologise for this. But the small disruption will be well worth it for those who use the bypass in the future.”
