A 62-year-old man has died after he was hit by car while walking across a dual carriageway following a minor accident.
Just before 8.30am on Saturday, December 17 the man from Bournemouth was driving a red Seat Ibiza north along at the A43.
Somewhere between the Barley Mow and the Evenley roundabouts he collided with the central reservation.
A spokesman for Northants Police said his car came to a stop at the side of the road, but partially in the first lane.
He added: “The man got out of his car and began to cross the carriageway on foot. He was then in collision with a blue Vauxhall Cavalier which was travelling in the same direction. “He was air lifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he later died from his injuries.
“The driver of the Vauxhall, a 42-year-old man from Winchester, Hampshire, was uninjured.”
Anyone witnessed this accident, or the initial collision with the barrier should call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
