helicopter tragedy: A second former local woman has died following last month’s tragic helicopter crash in New York.

A SECOND former local woman has died following last month’s tragic helicopter crash in New York.

Harriet Nicholson, aged 60, was the mother of 40-year-old Sonia Marra, who died when the helicopter plunged into the East River on October 4.

Ms Marra’s partner, Helen Tamaki, died a few days later.

Mrs Nicholson’s husband, Paul, aged 71, and the pilot escaped with minor injuries.

Ms Marra grew up in Winslow and Padbury.

Mr Nicholson used to run A&N Ingredients Supplies in Station Road, Winslow, and Mrs Nicholson ran a clothing shop on High Street, Winslow.

The group were visiting New York to celebrate Ms Marra’s 40th birthday.
