Rail death not being treated as suspicious

THE death of a 28-year-old women from Northampton is not being treated as suspicious after her body was found on the railway line near Blisworth.

Named locally as Cornelie Olivier, she was found on Monday, July 25 after being hit by the 2:40pm service from Euston to Manchester Piccadilly.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to the lines close to Station Road, Blisworth, following a report of a woman hit by a train. BTP and Northants Police attended the incident, which was reported at 3.23pm.

“Paramedics from the East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended but the woman, believed to be 28-years-old and from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The death is not being treated as suspicious and an inquest is due to be opened.
