MAYOR of Winslow Llew Monger said he was “hopeful of a positive outcome” to the town’s long-running battle over parking charges, following a meeting with Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) top brass.

Councillor Monger and the chairman of the town’s chamber of trade John Knight met with leader of AVDC John Cartwright and Tracey Aldworth, the director responsible, on Monday.

Mr Cartwright has taken personal responsibility for this issue since the establishment of the new AVDC cabinet after the May elections.

Mr Monger said: “The meeting was extremely useful and both sides were able to illustrate their position amicably. Councillor Cartwright and Ms Aldworth will now have further discussions with colleagues and I will report back to Winslow Town Council.”
