Visitors to a town hotel get even more of a good night’s sleep – thanks to a 133-room upgrade.
Travelodge Bicester Cherwell Valley on the M40 has received a makeover which has given it a totally new look.
The upgrade, which brings the hotel into line with the most modern Travelodges took seven weeks to complete.
Rooms now boast luxury kingsize beds called Travelodge Dreamers and visitors can also enjoy a new bar cafe and reception area.
The boost for the hotel is part of the chain’s recent £57million upgrade, and the aim was that by autumn this year 80% of all Travelodges nationally would have the new look.
David Mansell, Hotel Manager at Bicester Cherwell Valley M40 Travelodge said: “Our £57 million nationwide modernisation programme is just one step on our journey to build a new Travelodge and become Britain’s favourite hotel brand for value.
“Our hotel has been totally transformed following the revamp and customers are telling us they love our new look.
“There is no doubt that our Travelodge Dreamer bed is the hero of the new room. Customer feedback has been outstanding and we’re constantly being asked by customers how they can purchase the bed.
“With more business and leisure travellers visiting the area, the demand for good value accommodation is rising at pace. Therefore our new modern Travelodge is fast becoming the favourite hotel for value in the area.”
And there is a science behind the new rooms, to help create a warm and cosy ambiance Travelodge worked with a chromotherapy expert and has introduced a sleep inducing colour palette to the room’s décor.
The new Travelodge room feature wall has been painted blue, as research shows our body clock is programmed to relate the colour blue to the hours of darkness. So when we look at the colour blue, our metabolism slows down, making us feel relaxed and sleepy.
Other additions to the new room include a contemporary en-suite bathroom with a power shower, stain & water resistant carpet in a dark shade of blue, a larger desk area, new reading lights and a phone charging socket built into the bed frame. The room also includes artwork above the bed. This is an abstract design featuring relaxing sparkles and shades of blue.
