One of the founder members of Band Jam has passed away at the age of 60.
Denis Granville worked for the BBC special effects department for a number of years before becoming a technician in the science departments at the Royal Latin School and the Buckingham School.
Mr Granville, who was well known around Buckingham, has also been a town councillor.
He died on August 15 at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford of pancreatitis after undergoing a kidney operation.
Long time friend Mike Hall, the former landlord of The New Inn, paid tribute to Mr Granville who was Mr Hall’s ‘right hand man.’
He said: “He will be much missed around town. He was a character and wrote a lot of questions for pub quizzes around the town.
“We have lost a good friend and an enthusiastic helper. He came to all our family events and was a much-loved friend.”
A funeral for Mr Granville will be held at Crownhill Crematorium on September 5, from 2pm.
People attending the funeral are asked to make donations to Kidney Research UK.
