Spinach the llama enjoyed devouring his cake as he celebrated his 20th birthday at a trekking centre party.
Spinach joined the Catanger Llamas herd when he was just six months old and has been trekking since 1995.
As the centre’s oldest llama, he was treated to a special 20th birthday party last week attended by his 36 llama pals, two horses and a donkey.
But Spinach is used to the limelight – he has starred in Midsomer Murders and children’s series Horrible Histories.
He also has a Blue Peter Badge after a visit from the show’s presenter Matt Baker and showed it off to visitors at his party.
Catanger Farm in Weedon Lois has bred hundreds of llamas at its trekking centre but it has never had one reach 20 before. Most live to their mid-to-late teens.
Sarah Brown, who looks after the llamas, said: “Spinach’s birthday was a real milestone and he deserved a party.
“Even though our old man only has one tooth left he is still a very happy, fit and healthy llama and we look forward to many more years with this grand old boy.”
