Customers were queuing up when Sainsbury’s opened its new store yesterday, Thursday.
The new Sainsbury’s Local on Chandos Road, in Buckingham, was officially opened by headteacher of Grenville Academy, Lucy Howard at 9am.
Deputy manager, Lewis Harrison, said: “We had a great crowd when we had our grand opening and we had a queue of people at 7am waiting outside when we opened for business.
“It has been really positive. We’ve been able to walk around with the customers and there was a good feel to the store. We’ve had a great start – we couldn’t have wished for better.”
The new Sainsbury’s Local is on the site of the former art deco Chandos Cinema, which was demolished to make way for the new store.
