The free annual event had many attractions for young people including craft making, balloon demonstrations, face painting, and lots of refreshments.

The park was filled with children and their families setting out picnic blankets and enjoying a bite to eat.

Best dressed bear was won by a brother and sister who had brought along Daddy, Mummy and Baby Bear, which were all beautifully attired.

Mayor Melanie Magee said: “It was so difficult to judge all the bears. In total we had 150 and I had to narrow it down to 20 and then pick the winner.

“It was a fantastic day out and we were so lucky with the weather. I want to thank everyone who came and to the children who participated in the competition.”
