VIDEO: Pet charity launches appeal after rescuing 70 guinea pigs

A pet charity based in Caversfield is appealing for help after rescuing almost 70 guinea pigs.

Carol Spencer, founder of Tiny Paws Rehoming, said she had taken in the lovable squeakers after an elderly couple who bred the animals could no longer cope.

Speaking on Tuesday, she said: “I had 66 guinea pigs yesterday and I’ve got 69 today. It’s the first time I’ve ever had to take in this amount. When I said ‘yes’ to help I didn’t know quite how many there would be.”

Ms Spencer is appealing for help through donations or offers to rehome the guinea pigs. A fundraising sale will also be held on Saturday, October 5, at the Scout Hut in Ashdene Road from noon to 4pm.
