Woman from Duncote named as A5 crash victim

A 74-YEAR-OLD woman from Duncote near Greens Norton has died following a car crash near her home last week.

Police have named the women as Georgina Linford from Duncote. She died following an accident on the A5 near to the Duncote turn just after 9pm on Thursday, October 20

Mrs Linford was a passenger in a Suzuki Vitara which was in collison with a Mini Cooper. The Mini had been travelling north towards Weedon and the Suzuki had just pulled on to the A5 when the accident happened.

Mrs Linford sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Northampton General Hospital and died the next day. The driver of the Suzuki was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

There were no serious injuries to the four occupants of the Mini Cooper.

The A5 was closed for around two and half hours in order for the rescue to take place, and to begin an investigation.
