SILVERSTONE Circuit is pressing ahead with major improvements despite Donington Park's recent unveiling of a £100million development plan.
Donington Park last Friday submitted plans for upgrades which, if permitted, will allow it to host the British Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2010.
The Midlands circuit had announced the signing of a British Grand Prix deal with Formula One Management (FOM) on the opening day of this year's British Grand Prix.
However, Silverstone Circuit owners the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) will continue with plans for its own major development, which includes a new pit and paddock complex to meet F1 specifications.
The plans are supported by Aylesbury Vale and South Northants District Councils, and Silverstone is set to host the 2009 Grand Prix next June.
