IT was a memorable weekend of podium successes for drivers and teams from the region.
Towcester's Neil Cunningham, Thornborough's Danny Watts, Brackley's Karun Chandhok and Rubens Barrichello – at the wheel of a Brackley-based Honda – all climbed on the podium steps at Silverstone following great drives.

Chandhok was the first to record a podium finish when he finished third in the opening GP2 race of the weekend on Saturday and early on Sunday morning Danny Watts drove one of the finest races of his career to finish second in the Porsche Supercup event.

Rubens Barrichello scored his best result of the 2008 season, crossing the line third in the British Grand Prix itself, before Neil Cunningham brought the curtain down on a sensational weekend of sport by winning the final race of the weekend – the HSCC Historic Saloon Car Challenge with some style.
