Beachborough gymnasts shine
BEACHBOROUGH School Gymnastics team enjoyed a successful day at Wade Gymnastics competition.
On a wonderful afternoon of action, all children performed a floor routine followed by a vault with medals awarded for the vault, floor routine and an overall score. The younger children had a extremely successful afternoon after winning seven medals from a total of nine.
Two gold medals were awarded to Alicia Highton for her outstanding vault and floor performance while Imogen Curry took first place on the floor and Bella Alder won the vault. There were also impressive performances from Samantha Schweikhard and Annie Jokhoo, who took second and third respectively in the vault.
Overall, Beachborough won all three medals with Schweikhard first, Alder second and Curry third.
In the class for slightly older children, Jemma Zimmerman won silver on the floor and Gemma Ashley took the overall bronze.
Finally, the last class of the day was for older children and Beachborough enjoyed further success with Sophie Tredwell claiming bronze in the vault and Kitty Jewson winning gold in the vault and overall silver.
